Market Supervisor
Job Description
The Market Supervisor’s role is to represent Our Neighbors’ Table’s mission and values while focusing on the day-to-day operations of Our Neighbors’ Table’s grocery markets. The essence of this role will be to provide organized and focused direction and supervision of Market volunteers in providing the best possible service for all ONT shoppers, while working with the Community Engagement team to raise awareness of our Markets. The ideal candidate will be a people person who is welcoming, respectful, empathetic and supportive, while at the same time be program oriented, reliable, computer-savvy, and organized, with a keen attention to detail. This is an hourly-paid 40- hour-per week-role, eligible for company benefits.
Responsibilities include
Working Supervision of Volunteer Staff – working alongside our volunteer staff to run the weekly markets and ensure they are fully staffed and the staff is fully trained
Outreach and Community Connections – working with our community engagement team to raise awareness of food insecurity and how our markets help our neighbors, along with monitoring the integrated community markets in different towns in our area
Market Software Management- managing the software which handles our grocery ordering for the markets, our scheduling for volunteer staff and our database of clients we support
Guest Stewardship – ensuring guests have a successful and respectful interaction in our market spaces and ensuring our vision for how we treat everyone with dignity and respect
Any other duties as requested by Associate Director of Grocery Programs, Program Director, and Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
- Professional demeanor with compassion and empathy for others from diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds and a personal philosophy that aligns with ONT’s core values of dignity, community and respect
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to give direction, develop and conduct trainings, and attend meetings on behalf of ONT
- Strong computer skills -including web-based databases and Microsoft Office Suite- and ability to learn and proficiently use other necessary related computer programs
- Strong attention to detail, organized and sense of pride in your work with a demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Flexibility is a must, with a willingness to cover for other Market Supervisors during sick time and vacation schedules
- Ability to transition successfully between locations during the day (to visit multiple ONT locations)
- Ability to attend current Food Safety coursework and complete and maintain Massachusetts Allergen certification as required by the Greater Boston Food Bank
- English fluency required; bilingual a strong plus
- MA/NH or valid driver’s license, with clean driving record and ability to maintain
- Applicants subject to CORI check prior to hiring
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree level or 2-year degree level with related field experience
- Non-profit experience desirable but not required
- Experience working with Volunteers preferred
- Experience with scheduling staff and managing attendance
Physical Environment:
- Category of Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Seated positions, standing positions for extended time frame, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, standing, stooping, climbing, small motor coordination, typing, communication
- Most of the work is completed indoors in climate-controlled environments, minimal exposure to elements

We are hiring a full time Warehouse Assistant to represent Our Neighbors' Table's mission and values and focus on the day-to-day operations of our warehouse operations & community markets.

We are hiring a full time Warehouse Assistant to represent Our Neighbors' Table's mission and values and focus on the day-to-day operations of our warehouse operations & community markets.
Benefits for this position include the following:
- Health, dental & vision insurance coverage – 100% employer-paid for individual employee coverage; 50% employer-paid for family coverage
- 2 weeks paid vacation, 2 weeks sick time
- Paid holidays to include 1-week paid holiday between Christmas & New Years’

- 8-hour shift
- 40 hours/week – alternating work schedule of Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Saturday every other week
- Receive, unload, and put away incoming food deliveries and donations
- Maintain an accurate perpetual inventory in the inventory management database; follow best practices in all inventory management; ensure Market is stocked & ready for next day operations
- Track & order all warehouse supplies
- Daily maintenance of warehouse space – cleaning, sweeping, mopping floors and trash management
- Available to drive our fleet on a moment’s notice
- Maintain vehicle maintenance & schedules for all ONT trucks & vans
- Safe operation of all warehouse equipment including, but not limited to warehouse dollies, the scissor lift, hydraulic pallet jack, the cardboard compactor, and any other applicable equipment and vehicles
- Manage volunteer staff in a welcoming and supported environment to ensure a meaningful work experience
- Maintain a safe work environment; and any other duties assigned by the warehouse and program team
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and clean driving record and must be able to drive multiple types of vehicles - our truck fleet includes box trucks and vans
- Computer skills in web-based databases, Microsoft Office Suite, Google mail and calendar
- Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to delegate work to, supervise and motivate volunteer workers
- Compassion for others and a philosophy that aligns with ONT's core values of dignity, community and respect is mandatory
- Flexibility - have the ability to multitask and shift priorities as needs arise
- All applicants will be subject to a CORI check prior to hiring
- Work is performed indoors inside the warehouse in ambient, cooler, and freezer temperatures for potentially extended periods of time.
- Fast paced environment throughout the day.
- Ability to safely operate electrical pallet jacks.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend up to 8 hours per day.
- Loading and unloading trailers of freight.
- Lifting inventory throughout the day; must be able to lift up to 60 pounds on a regular basis
